Someone asked me the other day why I love writing horror scripts.
We got into a very interesting conversation about why the horror genre is such a great arena for new/green/novice/early-in-their-career writers to tackle.
The thing is, horror is low budget — which is a very good thing for a new writer. It means, a lot more producers can pull off your script with minimal financing. This means, a higher likelihood of going into production! The goal.
There are OTHER lower-budget genres that don’t necessarily allow the screenplay to come to life in the way it should...
