ONE REASON writing high concept screenplays makes getting produced a little easier for writers

It’s 72 degrees and dumping rain as I write today’s entry….
The high concept script.
In other words, a script that you can pitch in one line and a reader goes “OOOHHHH, I TOTES GET THAT!”
It’s a big idea that’s easy to understand; someone can immediately picture it as a movie without you having to say anything more. Arnold and Danny Devito as Twins. A lawyer loses the ability to lie.
The low concept screenplay often revolves around characters, or slices of life.
I’m not here to speak on which is better, or which you should ultimately write (that’s your decision) just on the little edge that high concept has—
