Don’t get me wrong.
I love a good character-driven story. The performances are usually off the charts. Movie stars love acting in them, when they’re not doing their summer blockbusters. They win Oscars, too. And there’s a serious audience for these type of films. So in no way am I shitting on the low-concept character-driven stuff… Nope, not one bit! (Seriously. No sarcasm today).
I’m simply advising you to NEVER write them.
