If you live in LA, you sell more Screenplays
2 cents from a moderately-successful & not-terribly-humble Los Angeles based screenwriter
It’s 45 degrees this morning. Quite possibly the coldest LA winter I’ve ever experienced. Or I’m becoming more of a pussy these days.
In other news, the holiday season is upon us. It’s the third day of Hanukkah. And the industry is shut down (unofficially), and I actually have a gift for you.
No. It’s not a dufflebag of money to make your first feature film. It’s also not the gift of insight and wisdom…which you know me to be full of. It’s the gift of comfort. Comfort that you’re not alone this holiday…. in having a dream.
In fact, you were GIVEN THAT DREAM for a reason; to achieve it, or at least learn something from it. Hopefully both. But especially the achieving part, because I want fame, seven figure sales, and a better life more than I want more lessons. I have plenty of those.
The question is, for all the writers out there (… & actors, directors, & musicians probably), do you need be in Los Angeles, a.k.a. the mecca of superstardom and broken dreams to stand a chance of success?
