Compromises are a part of making movies
You may lose a line you love, or a battle, sure… but the best writers — they keep an eye on the big picture.
This is an interesting topic as we reach the end of the year… Compromises. Wait, what?! I don’t want to sell out, Spyder. I am an artist!!! My movie is supposed to be THIS and THIS ONLY.
I hear you. I really do. But when you write a script and some serious financing comes along — things change. Selling scripts isn’t the end of the process. It’s the beginning. The production commences and often, many people have opinions that not only are voiced, but need to be implemented.
