For the record, I’m not talking about pitching someone in an actual elevator. Just an expedited 30 second pitch (the length of an elevator ride). It’s unwise to pitch strangers in an elevator. They might get angry. Although, at my first general meeting ever, I did happen to share an elevator with Jon Voigt. This was 2015, mind you, season 2 Ray Donovan Jon Voight. Better era. We exchanged a quick hello. And no pitching occurred.

My entire writing career started off with what I’d call a high-risk pitch. Win big, fail epically.
