If you know me, you know, I don’t believe any route is ever dead. The thing is, miracles happen. And if you have a dream, you can always make it happen. No matter who you are. Where you came from. When you started. What holds you back. Etc. This is a fundamental truth. Always will be.

An 80 year old screenwriter first time screenwriter can work with Steven Spielberg on their first project. A person can change careers 30 times, and find the dream job at 31. Mailmen become established successful novelists — Charles Bukowski was a mailman after all, for a long bloody time.

You get my point. But the question remains, is writing spec scripts a route that has the odds and payoffs that it once did?
